Who We Are
|
| |
Following our first investigation, it became quite obvious that we were hooked! We began to gather equipment and decided to formalize the group. Admittedly, we were caught up with the growing popularity of "GhostHunters" and went looking for that snappy little name like "TAPS." We chose our name to be Northern Indiana Pair-O'-Normal Sisters. (Okay, so we used a little "play on words" to represent two nutty sisters; thus the "Pair-O'-Normal" in our group's name - get it? pair...two...sisters..? Let's move on...). Our snappy little name became "NIPS." This was all well and good to begin with but, eventually, we gained a significant amount of exposure and credibility. You can well imagine the snickers and smiles. We also had trouble with the guys wearing the logo - go figure. After careful consideration we opted for a name that better described our mission and thus became WIPRS.

Team Leader - Evelyn
I am one-half of the sister team. My name is Evelyn and the younger of this team (though sis will vehemently deny that she is older). My role is Team Leader and I am in charge of providing equipment; equipment training; public relations; searching for new sites and locations to investigate, as well as booking our "hunts," whether they be near or far; assessment, development and arrangement of the various types of evidence uncovered; and now the developer of this site.
I am a single mom who works full-time as an office manager for a local businessman. I have been blessed with two terrific sons, Eddie and Danny - Eddie being the perpetual skeptic and Danny being a member of our team. By association, these boys provide me with a multitude of "adopted" sons and daughters that tend to gravitate towards our house, so I am known as "Mom" to many.
In my spare time, I am also a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children. This is a volunteer program in our county that provides court advocates for children involved in abuse or custody cases. (Check out our link for more information - and consider becoming a volunteer!)

Team Leader - Marianne
The other half of this dynamic duo is Marianne - the instigator of this endeavor (come to think of it, she has been the instigator for a number of endeavors in our lives!). Her role is also Team Leader, despite her aversion to modern technology and the challenge it all seems to present to her. She does a terrific job of being in charge of the flashlights, extra batteries and tapes. She also searches and makes contacts for new sites to investigate. Once we got past our first "scare," I can honestly tell you there is no one else I would trust to have my back. As long as someone navigates, she will drive anywhere (we logged some 2500 miles one summer and she drove it all!).
She, too, is a single mom that who works full time for the county. She was blessed with two daughters, Alicia and Lauren - Alicia being her skeptic (the first doctor in the family since receiving her Ph.D. from New York Medical College and now living in Littleton, NH - we are SOOOOO proud!) and Lauren, also a member of our team.

Technical Crew Member - Danny
My youngest son and one-half of our terrific technical crew. Danny helps with the camera setups and placements; monitors tapes; performs temperature checks, and fearlessly roams some of the creepiest locations firing off one digital photo after another.
Danny is currently contemplating attending the University of Southern Indiana and may be relocating after the first of the year. For now, we our fortunate to have him accompany us on as many "hunts" as we can schedule.

|
Technical Crew Member - "J"
My "adopted" son and close friend to both of my sons, Jeremy ("J") is the other half of our terrific technical crew. He also helps with the camera setups and placements; monitoring of tapes; performs EMF and Tri-Field Meter sweeps, and wanders just as fearlessly while trying to record evidence.
"J" and Danny also provide many moments of some much-needed "comic relief" during those long nights and more intense times.

EVP Specialist - Lauren
Marianne's youngest daughter, Lauren, generally maintains the digital voice recorder. Lauren also has an uncanny ability to evoke responses with dowsing rods. Of course it would be completely irresponsible of us, as a parent and aunt, to use this young lady's vulnerable age-induced hormonal instability to evoke any type of response (okay, okay - we're shameless - but if it works....?).
Currently a senior at Warsaw Community High School, and most likely heading to Ball State next year, Lauren manages to fit us into her busy social schedule.
